Located in the prestigious Shanghai Global Financial Center, Xingshufu Banouet is positioned as a high-end restaurant specializing in Sichuan cuisine. The project, covering 680 square meters, is an evolution of the Xingshu Fu Zhen Cui brand, aiming to distinguish itself amid a competitive culinary landscape. By integrating artistic elements from western Sichuan culture, the design seeks to create a unique and lasting impression on diners, transforming the space into a powerful tool for brand differentiation.
The restaurant’s interior is a harmonious blend of materials such as wood veneer, vintage and mirrored stainless steel, marble, leather, and mosaic, all unified by the subtle application of Malay paint. This thoughtful selection not only enhances the tactile and visual richness of the environment but also supports the overall concept of layering and depth. The interplay of color brightness and texture is meticulously controlled, resulting in a space that feels both inviting and sophisticated.
One of the defining features of Xingshufu Banouet is its fusion of oriental aesthetics with contemporary Western design principles. The space reflects the rational, ever-evolving spirit of Western art while honoring the consistent elegance and cultural depth of Eastern traditions. This duality is evident in the spatial forms and decorative elements, which draw inspiration from the natural scenery, history, and humanistic aspects of Bashu culture. The result is an environment that not only celebrates cultural heritage but also resonates with modern lifestyles.
Haodong Liu’s approach to brand strategy is rooted in flexibility and innovation. Rather than adhering to a static visual identity, the design introduces the concept of “thousands of stores, thousands of faces,” allowing each location to express its own character while maintaining core brand values. This adaptability addresses the challenges faced by traditional dining brands in a rapidly changing market, ensuring that the restaurant remains relevant and appealing to a diverse clientele.
Recognized with the Platinum A' Design Award in 2025, Xingshufu Banouet exemplifies world-class excellence in interior space and retail design. The project not only advances the boundaries of art and design but also contributes to the cultural and social fabric of Shanghai, offering diners an immersive experience that is as intellectually engaging as it is visually stunning.
By seamlessly integrating cultural heritage, innovative materials, and strategic flexibility, Xingshufu Banouet sets a new standard for high-end dining environments and demonstrates the transformative power of thoughtful design in shaping memorable experiences.
