Inspired by the graceful lines and layered decks of a yacht, Arcadian Cruise brings the serenity of the sea into city living. The layout mirrors the structure of an upper and lower deck, offering a panoramic common area above while ensuring privacy below. This thoughtful division not only maximizes natural light but also fosters a sense of openness, making the apartment feel expansive despite its urban setting.
What distinguishes Arcadian Cruise is its understated approach to luxury. Eschewing ostentation, the design emphasizes sophistication through materiality and craftsmanship. The collaboration between the owners and Jerry Tung resulted in a harmonious blend of organic elements and refined details. The use of fabric and leather—particularly the saddle leather handrails and balusters, complete with handcrafted stitching—imbues the space with tactile richness and visual warmth.
Innovative features play a crucial role in the apartment’s functionality and ambiance. Partition grilles, finished with textile wallcoverings and leather surfaces, delineate spaces without obstructing light or sightlines. Oversized ceramic tiles with an epoxy finish provide a durable, easy-to-maintain flooring solution, ideal for modern family life. The large folding glass doors in the common area invite abundant daylight, reducing reliance on artificial lighting and enhancing the overall well-being of residents.
Subtle design cues evoke the feeling of being aboard a ship. The wavy ceiling in the living room, soft color palette, and rounded wall corners all contribute to a tranquil, maritime atmosphere. Greenery throughout the apartment not only softens the interior but also supports the physical and mental health of its inhabitants, offering a refreshing contrast to city life.
Recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in 2025, Arcadian Cruise exemplifies how art, science, and thoughtful design can elevate everyday living. Jerry Tung’s creation stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the enduring appeal of understated elegance, making this apartment a true urban sanctuary.
