Log Concerto: An Eclectic Apartment with Mountain Views

Modern form meets Oriental and Continental elegance in Taipei

Located in the prestigious Dazhi District of Taipei, Log Concerto stands as a testament to refined apartment interior design. The project draws inspiration from the surrounding mountains, channeling natural beauty into every corner of the 248-square-meter residence. Expansive windows invite the outdoors in, creating a seamless connection between the cityscape and tranquil nature, while the design’s eclectic blend of modern, Oriental, and Continental elements sets a sophisticated tone.

A signature feature of the apartment is the floor-to-ceiling wood cabinet that elegantly divides the living and dining areas. Crafted from premium Myanmar teak, the cabinet is adorned with geometric engravings and incorporates five swivel screens. This innovative element allows light to flow freely, offering flexible sightlines that can be adjusted for privacy or openness, thus fostering both interaction and individuality within the home.

The interior is meticulously realized with abundant use of high-quality teak, marble, and titanium metal trims. The entrance, paved with marble chevron-pattern parquet and natural stones, exudes a vibrant yet elegant poise. Throughout the apartment, a linear continuity in material selection and clean forms unifies each space, resulting in a harmonious fusion of craftsmanship and multicultural design influences. The main wall’s marble paneling, detailed with titanium inlays, further elevates the sense of luxury.

Attention to material quality and craftsmanship is evident in the selection and treatment of teak. Only 40 percent of the finest logs were chosen to ensure color harmony, with each piece meticulously sliced and arranged into new patterns. This approach not only highlights the unique character of each timber but also demonstrates the designer’s commitment to excellence and innovation in joinery techniques.

Log Concerto’s thoughtful design has earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design for 2025, a recognition of its creative ingenuity and contribution to quality of life.
