Empowering Teens: Art Education Meets Artificial Intelligence

Innovative AIGC Course by Zhaohui Lu, Jingwei Fan, and Wenxuan Zeng Inspires Young Creatives

Integrating artificial intelligence-generated content (AIGC) into art education, a pioneering course series is reshaping how teenagers engage with creativity and technology.

In recent years, artificial intelligence-generated content tools have rapidly gained traction, transforming creative industries and redefining the boundaries of artistic expression. Recognizing this shift, designers Zhaohui Lu, Jingwei Fan, and Wenxuan Zeng developed the Aigc Class for Teenagers—a unique training content design that introduces adolescents to the fusion of art history and AI-driven innovation. This initiative responds to the growing need for educational programs that prepare students for a digitally integrated future, especially as AIGC tools become central to contemporary art and design.

The course stands out for its seamless integration of AIGC platforms with traditional art education. By combining classical art principles with hands-on experience using AI image generation and style transfer tools, the curriculum fosters both technical proficiency and creative exploration. Lessons are meticulously structured using XMind for conceptual clarity, while visual components are crafted with Midjourney and Photoshop, ensuring high-quality, engaging materials. The final course series is delivered through PowerPoint, making it accessible and visually appealing for young learners.

Feedback from the initial ten sessions, conducted at an educational institution in Guangzhou, has been overwhelmingly positive. Students have shown heightened engagement and curiosity, with many expressing newfound enthusiasm for the intersection of technology and art. According to the design team, this approach not only sparks creativity but also equips teenagers with skills relevant to the evolving landscape of digital artistry. The course’s success is further underscored by its recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in 2025, highlighting its technical ingenuity and contribution to quality of life improvements.

One of the primary challenges faced by the team was the lack of existing resources on integrating AIGC into art education. Overcoming this, the educators drew on their collective expertise to design, edit, and deliver lessons that are both effective and engaging. The result is a dynamic learning environment where innovation thrives, and students are encouraged to push the boundaries of their creative potential.

As technology continues to reshape the world of art, the Aigc Class for Teenagers exemplifies how forward-thinking educational design can empower the next generation. By blending the rich traditions of art history with the limitless possibilities of artificial intelligence, this program sets a new standard for creative education—one that prepares students not only to adapt but to lead in a rapidly changing digital era.
