The Tone Collection draws deeply from the Mediterranean’s rich heritage, merging the rhythm of local music, the fluidity of dance, and the tranquility of coastal waves. This tableware series captures the essence of the region through organic forms reminiscent of scalloped sea shells and flamenco dresses, creating a visual and tactile experience tailored for boutique and fine dining establishments. The collection’s design language, slightly abstract yet universally appealing, offers a fresh perspective on modern tableware.
Distinguished by its mildly scalloped edges and three harmonious reactive glazes—Sahara, Blush, and Adelfa—the Tone Collection stands out for both its aesthetic and technical innovation. Crafted from Bonna’s premium vitrified body, the collection achieves near-porcelain durability and almost zero water absorption, all while minimizing energy consumption during production. This commitment to sustainability is paired with a ceramic workshop feel, ensuring each piece is both environmentally conscious and visually striking.
Functionality is at the heart of the Tone Collection’s appeal. Designed to meet the demanding requirements of the Horeca sector, the series offers functional sizes and volumes, exceptional stackability, and a long lifecycle. The adaptability of the collection is further enhanced by its compatibility with other Bonna products and complementary designs, allowing for creative mix-and-match table settings that suit a variety of dining environments.
Spanning 11 distinct items, the collection ranges from 100 to 360 mm in width and 15 to 70 mm in height, providing versatile solutions for diverse culinary presentations. The design process was informed by extensive research, including feedback from chefs and restaurant owners, ensuring the collection addresses real-world needs in both dimension and visual integrity. This collaborative approach has resulted in a product family that seamlessly transitions from local inspiration to global appeal.
Overcoming the challenge of infusing a handcrafted ceramic feel into mass production, the Tone Collection achieves a balance between artisanal aesthetics and industrial efficiency. The use of harder materials and advanced glazes contributes to enhanced sustainability, stackability, and longevity, setting a new standard in contemporary tableware design.
Recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2025, the Tone Collection exemplifies excellence in art, science, and technology, making a meaningful contribution to quality of life and the evolving landscape of modern dining.
