Yenikoy House: Celebrating Istanbul’s Vibrant Cityscape

Minimalist interiors frame sweeping views of Istanbul’s dynamic life

Chiara de Rocchi Kamer’s Yenikoy House in Istanbul redefines residential interior design by blending simplicity with panoramic city views, creating a living space that immerses residents in the urban vibrancy outside.

Located in the heart of Istanbul, Yenikoy House stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful interior design. Conceived by Chiara de Rocchi Kamer, the 250-square-meter residence is meticulously crafted to highlight the city’s energy through expansive windows and open spaces. The design philosophy centers on allowing residents to feel connected to Istanbul’s pulse, with every room oriented to maximize the impact of the surrounding urban landscape.

The interior adopts a minimalist approach, where simplicity is key. Furnishings are intentionally understated, ensuring that the ever-changing city view remains the focal point. This restraint in décor not only enhances the sense of space but also amplifies the emotional connection between the indoors and the bustling metropolis outside. Select art pieces and limited-edition products introduce subtle vibrancy, providing visual interest without detracting from the overall harmony.

One of the defining features of Yenikoy House is the use of tadelakt—a natural, breathable plaster—on both walls and ceilings. This ecological material not only contributes to the home’s serene ambiance but also reflects a commitment to sustainable design practices. The tactile quality of tadelakt, combined with the home’s generous 80-square-meter terrace, invites residents to experience a seamless transition between interior comfort and the lively exterior environment.

The project’s execution was marked by precision and efficiency. Following the design and rendering phase, furniture and products were carefully selected and ordered, with the entire production and installation process completed in just five months. The result is a four-room residence featuring two bedrooms, a gym area, a spacious living room, and a modern kitchen—all unified by a consistent design language that prioritizes both form and function.

Yenikoy House has garnered international recognition, earning the Bronze A' Design Award in 2025 for its innovative approach and technical excellence. The project exemplifies how interior design can elevate daily living by fostering a deeper connection with one’s surroundings, ultimately making a meaningful contribution to quality of life.

Chiara de Rocchi Kamer’s vision for Yenikoy House demonstrates that simplicity, when paired with intentional design and a respect for local context, can create spaces that are both timeless and deeply inspiring.
