Horus Yacht: A Fusion of Elements and Innovation

Nature-inspired luxury meets cutting-edge technology in award-winning superyacht

Inspired by the ancient symbol of Horus’s eye and the four classical elements, the Horus motor yacht by Tunahan Sert and Kumru Bekret redefines luxury yachting through a harmonious blend of nature, comfort, and advanced eco-friendly technology.

The Horus yacht stands as a testament to the power of design inspired by nature and ancient symbolism. Drawing from the eye of Horus and the elements of earth, water, air, and fire, the vessel’s aesthetic and spatial organization reflect a philosophy of balance across physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realms. Organic forms and fluid lines dominate both the interior and exterior, creating a dynamic silhouette that seamlessly integrates with the surrounding seascape. Large windows and wide, open spaces further enhance the connection to nature, offering guests panoramic views and a sense of tranquility.

Unparalleled comfort and exclusivity are at the heart of the Horus experience. The yacht features a two-deck owner’s suite with a private terrace, while four additional cabins are each themed around one of the four elements, providing guests with a unique and immersive stay. Amenities such as a swimming pool, jacuzzi, spa, hammam, gym, and expansive lounge areas ensure that relaxation and wellbeing are always within reach. Every detail, from the layout to the materials, has been carefully considered to maximize both privacy and communal enjoyment.

Technological innovation is a defining characteristic of the Horus yacht. The vessel employs a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system, utilizing two Kongsberg Elegance azipods for enhanced maneuverability and fuel efficiency. This setup allows for quiet, zero-emission cruising at low speeds, powered by electricity stored in onboard batteries. Fin stabilizers further elevate comfort by minimizing motion, while the lightweight aluminum hull and superstructure contribute to overall efficiency and performance. With a cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 4,000 nautical miles, the yacht is engineered for both adventure and sustainability.

Realization of the Horus design required overcoming significant technical challenges, particularly in fitting a sophisticated diesel-electric system within a vessel under 500 gross tons and 50 meters in length. Extensive research into semi-displacement hull forms and innovative layout planning ensured optimal use of space for both technical and guest areas. The result is a yacht that not only meets rigorous environmental standards but also delivers a luxurious and harmonious onboard experience.

Recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2025, the Horus yacht exemplifies best practices in art, science, and technology. By marrying ancient inspiration with modern engineering, Tunahan Sert and Kumru Bekret have created a vessel that elevates the standard for sustainable luxury at sea, setting a new benchmark for future yacht design.

The Horus yacht invites a new era of yachting—one where design, technology, and nature coexist to offer an unparalleled journey for discerning travelers and design enthusiasts alike.
