Mysterious: Redefining the Office Lounge Experience

Innovative design transforms a real estate office into a dynamic retreat

Yungching Realty Inc., a leading Taiwanese real estate agency, has unveiled a striking transformation at its Hsinchu branch. Driven by three forward-thinking owners, the project aims to break away from the traditional, often rigid office environment. The new design strategically separates office, negotiation, reception, and leisure areas, creating a clear sense of order and stability. This approach not only modernizes the workspace but also addresses the high-pressure demands faced by real estate agents, offering a sanctuary for relaxation and collaboration.

Distinct from standard office layouts, the Mysterious design introduces a dedicated relaxation zone at the rear of the space. This area features a multi-functional lounge bar, serving as a hub for leisure, social gatherings, and VIP meetings. Curved architectural forms, deep color palettes, and dynamic lighting effects evoke the energy of a night party, infusing the workplace with a sense of excitement and innovation. The design reflects the owners' vision for a non-traditional office, challenging industry norms and encouraging a vibrant company culture.

Material selection plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere. Artistic paint, Italian terrazzo countertops, tiles, and painted iron elements are layered to create a sophisticated spectrum of black tones. Adjustable lighting allows the ambiance to shift seamlessly from focused work to relaxed socializing. Ergonomic furniture, including curved wall seating, irregular sofas, and bar chairs, invites users to unwind and immerse themselves in the environment. The compact VIP meeting room, finished in calming cream hues, provides a focused space for confidential discussions.

Functionality is at the heart of the design. The lounge area is equipped with ample seating and integrated storage, supporting both teamwork and private conversations. The central bar includes a tea station and display shelving, facilitating casual dining and refreshments. Thoughtful circulation ensures easy movement throughout the office, promoting efficiency and accessibility for both staff and visitors.

Research for the project centered on improving the daily experience of real estate professionals. By drawing inspiration from the tranquility of the night, the design uses gentle, moonlight-inspired lighting to help staff decompress. This innovative approach has not only enhanced employee well-being but also improved business metrics such as visitor numbers, turnover, and trust with clients and landlords.
