WK Interiors crafts a refined, art-inspired dining experience in Taiwan

Located in Taiwan, Amaze is an exclusive, reservation-only restaurant that stands as a testament to the owner’s passion for art and refined taste. Designed by WK Interiors, the space draws inspiration from Art Deco’s iconic geometry and opulence, while infusing bold colors for a visually striking yet harmonious environment. The restaurant’s layout guides guests through a stylish reception, along a winding path, and up ceremonial steps to the main dining area, creating a sense of anticipation and grandeur from the moment of arrival.

Central to the dining experience is a long booth seating up to 18 guests, highlighted by Pisilian, a treasured painting by Paul Chiang. Professional lighting accentuates the artwork’s vivid hues and depth, transforming the dining table into a stage where cuisine becomes art. The design’s unique ‘frame-like’ ceiling and wall features further elevate both the artwork and the culinary presentation, ensuring each meal is an immersive visual and sensory journey.

Material selection plays a pivotal role in Amaze’s distinctive atmosphere. Rich dark wood, Art Deco-inspired panels, and intricate linework establish a foundation of elegance. The booth tabletops, crafted from green serpentine stone, offer a bold contrast to the red glass bead wallpaper, while custom glass lighting fixtures add contemporary flair without sacrificing sophistication. This interplay of textures and colors creates an ambiance that is both opulent and serene, inviting guests to linger and savor the experience.

The restaurant’s 241.6 square meter footprint is meticulously organized into four key zones: entrance reception, long booth, round booths, and kitchen. Each round booth, seating eight, features movable partitions for privacy or larger gatherings, and every booth includes a dedicated restroom to ensure exclusivity and convenience. The thoughtful spatial planning not only meets building regulations but also enhances operational efficiency, balancing luxury with practicality.

Amaze’s exterior, clad in Iron Moss—a Spanish stone with a metallic copper-gray sheen—sets the tone for the understated luxury within. The repositioned entrance, tiered stone flooring, and curated landscaping subtly guide guests, building anticipation before unveiling the restaurant’s artistic interior. Every detail, from vintage copper mirrors to glass maple leaf art, is curated to leave a lasting impression, aligning with the brand’s mission to evoke a sense of wonder and amazement.
