The Manzo collection, created by Ballinco Design Team in Tehran during 2024, stands as a testament to the enduring relationship between nature and design. Influenced by Japanese philosophy, the collection captures the delicate balance of strength and delicacy, much like the dance of light and shadow in a forest. Each piece—ranging from wide and standard drawers to a nightstand—embodies this duality, offering both individuality and harmony when combined as a set.

What sets Manzo apart is its thoughtful material selection and construction. The primary structure is crafted from plywood, chosen for its natural feel and the ability to avoid edge-banding, thereby preserving a seamless aesthetic. A walnut veneer finish enhances the visual warmth, while CNC-carved curves and a semi-matte polyurethane coating add a refined touch. The design also features replaceable glass panels and optimally engineered connections, ensuring both longevity and ease of after-sales service.

Technical innovation is central to Manzo’s realization. The use of a single plywood press mold for all bends streamlines production and reduces costs, reflecting a commitment to both sustainability and efficiency. The collection’s dimensions—such as the wide drawer measuring 2350 mm in width—cater to luxury and minimalism, making each piece suitable for contemporary interiors seeking tranquility and sophistication.

One of the key challenges faced by the Ballinco Design Team was integrating glass with the painted plywood body, particularly in the large drawer. Extensive research and prototyping led to a solution that balanced aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability, ultimately achieving the desired harmony between materials and form.

Manzo’s recognition with the Silver A' Furniture Design Award in 2025 underscores its excellence in both artistry and technical innovation.
