Ultima: Layered Luxury in Hong Kong Living

Natural textures and clean lines define Mstudio’s award-winning residential design.

Mstudio’s Ultima project transforms a 190-square-meter Hong Kong residence into a sophisticated sanctuary, blending natural materials, flowing lines, and abundant light to create a warm, inviting home tailored for modern family life.

Ultima stands as a testament to Mstudio’s mastery in residential design, where every element is meticulously curated to balance form and function. The project draws inspiration from the interplay of diverse materials and the dynamic movement of light, resulting in interiors that feel both expansive and intimate. Carefully selected furnishings and layered textures infuse each room with depth and character, while the seamless flow between spaces fosters a sense of openness rarely found in urban dwellings.

The design’s uniqueness lies in its ability to create spaciousness without sacrificing comfort. Clean architectural lines and thoughtful space planning maximize the 190-square-meter footprint, accommodating the needs of a family of four. Marble flooring and walls establish a refined backdrop, complemented by high-quality leather wall finishes, wooden veneer furniture, and accents of jade stone and steel. Italian furniture and lighting fixtures further elevate the public areas, enhancing the residence’s sleek yet inviting ambiance.

Natural light plays a pivotal role in Ultima’s atmosphere. Expansive windows blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors, offering panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and filling the home with warmth. The living room’s L-shaped sofa is strategically positioned to encourage family gatherings and to frame the stunning scenery, while a low bench by the window provides a tranquil spot to enjoy Hong Kong’s dazzling night lights.

Overcoming the challenge of limited space, Mstudio employed innovative planning and close collaboration with the homeowners to tailor the layout to the family’s lifestyle. The entrance features a striking combination of jade tile and blue sandstone, setting the tone for the residence’s unique character. Throughout the project, the careful selection of color palettes and materials reflects the occupants’ preferences, ensuring the home feels both personal and timeless.

Ultima’s excellence has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in 2025, celebrating its creative ingenuity and contribution to quality of life. By integrating best practices in art, science, and technology, the design not only enhances daily living but also exemplifies how thoughtful interiors can make urban life more beautiful and fulfilling.

Ultima demonstrates how residential spaces can transcend conventional boundaries, offering a harmonious blend of luxury, comfort, and individuality—an inspiring model for contemporary urban living.
