The Flux Quadras stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of watchmaking, where innovation and tradition intersect. Conceived by Albert Lai, a passionate watch enthusiast, and Jayson De Castro, a renowned YouTube watch reviewer, the project emerged from a shared vision to create a watch that challenges conventions. Their collaboration, rooted in online forums and real-time digital prototyping, aimed to deliver originality, practicality, and enduring style at an accessible price point.
Distinguishing itself through its layered case and seamless bracelet, the Flux Quadras achieves a visually striking floating effect. The multi-layered dial, featuring floating hour markers and a patterned backdrop, enhances both depth and legibility. The use of premium 904L stainless steel—favored for its superior corrosion resistance and lustrous finish—underscores the watch’s commitment to durability and luxury. At its heart lies a custom Swiss La Joux Perret G101 movement, complete with skeletonized bridges and an Airblade peripheral rotor, elevating both performance and aesthetics.
One of the most notable innovations is the tool-less bracelet system, a first in the industry. The patent-pending Nano-Adjust clasp allows for passive, on-the-fly size adjustments, ensuring optimal comfort without the need for specialized tools. This engineering feat, combined with a quick-release mechanism and toolless links, sets a new benchmark for user-friendly luxury watches. The bracelet’s ergonomic taper—from 26mm at the end link to 20mm—further enhances wearability.
Development of the Flux Quadras involved rigorous research and prototyping. The design team utilized 3D modeling, mechanical simulations, and direct feedback from collectors to refine every detail. Overcoming technical challenges, particularly in creating the fully tool-less bracelet, required pushing manufacturing partners beyond conventional boundaries. The entire process was conducted remotely, leveraging digital collaboration tools to iterate and perfect the design in real time.
Measuring 40mm in width and 12.5mm in height, the Flux Quadras offers a balanced wrist presence suitable for diverse lifestyles. Its robust construction, sapphire crystal, and innovative movement ensure longevity and precision. The design’s excellence has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in 2025, highlighting its remarkable blend of artistry, technical mastery, and user-centric innovation.
The Flux Quadras exemplifies a new era in luxury sports watches, where advanced engineering and thoughtful design converge to deliver comfort, style, and lasting value. As the project continues to evolve, it sets a compelling precedent for the future of wearable innovation.
