Wuhan Qiwu Technology: A Vibrant Office for Innovation

Biophilic design and bold colors energize this tech workspace

Wuhan Qiwu Technology, a leading high-tech enterprise specializing in sports smart hardware and data services, sought a workspace that would reflect its innovative spirit and youthful energy. Designer Yang Ding responded with a concept that embodies the company’s core values: professionalism, efficiency, and a commitment to excellence. The project covers two expansive floors, totaling 4,652 square meters, and was completed in August 2024 in Wuhan, China.

The office’s visual identity is anchored by a striking palette of blue and orange, directly inspired by the company’s logo. These colors are used to define distinct functional areas, creating a bold contrast between light corridors and vibrant workspaces. This approach not only enhances wayfinding but also infuses the environment with a sense of clarity and purpose, supporting both individual focus and collaborative energy.

Biophilic design principles play a central role in the project. Natural elements and landscape-inspired features are woven throughout the space, promoting well-being and motivation. This integration of nature is complemented by flexible layouts that support a hybrid work model, allowing teams to adapt seamlessly between focused tasks and creative collaboration. The result is a workspace that feels both human-centric and ecologically attuned.

Yang Ding’s research into spatial psychology and visual structure informed every aspect of the design. By challenging conventional office layouts, the project delivers a composite experience space that elevates daily routines into moments of inspiration. The careful organization of traffic flows and functional zones ensures that the office remains efficient and intuitive, while the infusion of corporate culture strengthens team identity.

Recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2025, this project stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design in shaping workplace culture. The office not only meets rigorous functional demands but also creates an environment where creativity, health, and innovation thrive.
