Miniso Land, designed by Xiang Li, transforms the traditional retail experience into an imaginative journey, blending amusement park inspiration with innovative spatial storytelling in Shanghai.

Located in the heart of Shanghai, Miniso Land stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of retail design. Conceived by Xiang Li, this three-story flagship store draws inspiration from the universal appeal of amusement parks, aiming to evoke happiness, satisfaction, and hope. The project’s core philosophy centers on emotional resonance, inviting visitors to rediscover the joy of shopping through a series of immersive, themed environments.

Miniso Land distinguishes itself through its inventive use of space and thematic diversity. The store is divided into six major zones, each offering a unique sensory experience. From the whimsical blind box area enveloped in pink hues to the plush section reminiscent of a fairy tale, each zone is meticulously crafted to transport visitors into different worlds. Over seventy types of co-branded products from various intellectual property universes are seamlessly integrated, ensuring both variety and coherence throughout the space.

A key innovation lies in the application of assembly toy logic to the store’s architectural elements. Shelving units, traditionally utilitarian, are reimagined as playful structures inspired by amusement park attractions. In the fragrance area, shelves take the form of vines, while in the pet section, they mimic cacti, challenging conventional perceptions and enhancing the narrative quality of the retail environment. This approach not only maximizes space utilization but also fosters a sense of discovery and engagement.
