Stone Glow stands as a testament to the evolving language of modern residential design. At the heart of the project is the principle of "gradual change," a concept that shapes every aspect of the 64-square-meter apartment in Taiwan. By layering white and gray hues with strategic black accents, the design introduces visual depth without overwhelming the senses. The use of gray marble on the TV wall and kitchen island, both featuring a gradual tonal transition, anchors the space and sets a refined, cohesive tone.
The apartment’s layout prioritizes openness and interaction. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the living area with natural light, while an open kitchen and a central island delineate the living, dining, and cooking zones. This island not only serves as a functional divider but also becomes a social hub, fostering connection among residents and guests. Behind the sofa, a multi-functional room is thoughtfully reserved for future needs, such as a baby’s bedroom, reflecting both flexibility and foresight in design.
Material selection and detailing are central to Stone Glow’s unique character. The TV wall’s construction begins with a wood base, layered with marble, and finished with a grille facade that seamlessly transitions into curved forms. Art paint, chosen for its fine texture, adorns the sofa backdrop, dining display wall, and corridor, imparting a sense of grandeur within a minimalist framework. Warmth is further introduced through light wood grain laminates and soft, curved lines, balancing the crispness of stone with inviting comfort.
Storage solutions are expertly integrated to maintain the apartment’s clean lines. An arc display cabinet at the entryway extends into a wardrobe area, while a dressing mirror and shoe cabinet cleverly conceal utility boxes. The U-shaped wall adjacent to the kitchen island provides both display and storage, allowing personal collections to become part of the living art within the home.
Lighting and craftsmanship play a pivotal role in elevating the master bedroom. The U-shaped headboard, featuring a nuanced blend of rural and foggy tones, is accentuated by an aluminum strip lamp that follows its gentle curve. This, combined with titanium-plated wall lamps, achieves a harmonious balance between fashionable aesthetics and practical illumination, enhancing the restful ambiance of the space.
Stone Glow’s innovative approach has been recognized with the Iron A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2025, celebrating its integration of industry best practices and technical excellence. The project exemplifies how thoughtful design can transform a simple apartment into a layered, emotionally resonant home, setting a new standard for residential interiors that prioritize both beauty and functionality.
