Robert Jaruszewski’s sculptural bronze console redefines interactive furniture design

Drawing inspiration from a chance encounter with a young woman whose charm and inquisitiveness left a lasting impression, Robert Jaruszewski has translated these qualities into a striking piece of furniture. The design process for Curious began in Madeira in March 2022 and was refined in Warsaw, Poland, over nine months of research, prototyping, and structural testing. Achieving stability without sacrificing sculptural elegance posed significant challenges, necessitating innovative engineering solutions such as the pivot mechanism for the lower drawer. The result is a console that transcends conventional furniture, offering both artistic presence and practical utility.

Recognized for its ingenuity, Curious was awarded Bronze in the A' Luxury Design Award in 2025. This accolade highlights the console’s contribution to quality of life improvements and its embodiment of best practices in art, science, and design.
