Located within a 750-square-meter space, Zhenbaoguan stands as a testament to the harmonious integration of art and lifestyle. The project was conceived to showcase a treasured private collection, with each piece thoughtfully displayed to maximize its visual impact. Drawing inspiration from traditional museum layouts, the design ensures that every artwork is easily accessible and illuminated to highlight its unique beauty.

What sets Zhenbaoguan apart is its meticulous use of materials and lighting. Black wood finishes and stone surfaces create a subdued backdrop, directing attention toward the art and collectibles. Custom-designed cabinet lighting focuses solely on the displayed pieces, leaving the surrounding cabinetry in shadow and amplifying the splendor of each item. This approach transforms the space into a sanctuary where art takes center stage.

The wine wall, a central feature of the gallery, reflects the client’s passion for Chinese wine culture. The display is arranged with oriental symmetry, balancing both sides of the main corridor to evoke a solemn sense of order. This design philosophy draws from Confucian ideals of neutrality and calm, as well as Taoist concepts of yin and yang, creating a space that is both balanced and dynamic.

Spatial movement within Zhenbaoguan is carefully orchestrated. The layout incorporates turns and transitions, encouraging visitors to experience changing perspectives and emotions as they move through the gallery. This dynamic flow is intended to evoke a sense of discovery, with each pause and viewpoint offering a new appreciation for the collection and the space itself.

Despite its function as a private residence and office, Zhenbaoguan maintains an atmosphere of tranquility and relaxation. The color palette is light and elegant, with minimal wall symbols and understated decorative elements. Complex design features are reserved for the ceiling and floor, ensuring that the visual center remains calm and contemplative, in harmony with the displayed paintings and calligraphy.

Zhenbaoguan has been recognized with the prestigious Golden A' Design Award, a testament to its outstanding contribution to interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
