Numa Beach: Minimalism Meets Mediterranean Leisure

Juan David Martinez Jofre crafts a seamless sensory escape in Mallorca

Numa Beach redefines the Mediterranean club experience, blending nature, art, and innovation into a sophisticated coastal retreat in Playa de Muro, Mallorca.

Located on the sun-drenched shores of Playa de Muro, Numa Beach stands as a testament to the harmonious fusion of minimalism and hedonism. Conceived by Juan David Martinez Jofre, this beach club invites guests to immerse themselves in a world where the boundaries between architecture and the natural environment dissolve. The project’s vision was clear from the outset: to create a destination where the sea’s essence merges with a fluid, immersive leisure experience, balancing the salty breeze and warm sand with refined design and cutting-edge technology.

What sets Numa Beach apart is its commitment to visual cleanliness and aesthetic unity. The club’s neutral palette, featuring up to ten shades of white, mirrors the hues of the surrounding sand and sea, fostering a seamless connection with the landscape. Functional zones—including a restaurant, bar, seaside relaxation area, dance floor, and an art gallery—are thoughtfully integrated, allowing guests to transition effortlessly between dining, entertainment, and contemplation. The use of marine sand in the floor joints further blurs the line between interior and exterior spaces.

Lighting plays a pivotal role in shaping the club’s atmosphere. Adaptive systems respond to the shifting natural sunlight, creating conceptual effects that enhance the sensory journey. Notably, the access tunnel to the wet rooms employs innovative lighting techniques, transforming a simple passageway into an immersive visual experience. This attention to detail exemplifies the project’s dedication to both function and artistry.

The realization of Numa Beach relied on rigorous research and material innovation. The design team conducted extensive studies on sand’s granulometric properties, mineral purity, and chemical compatibility with microcement, concrete, and natural stone. The result is a robust yet elegant structure that spans approximately 1,200 square meters, blending technical excellence with a unique Mediterranean character. Every element—from the chromatic palette to the seamless material joints—contributes to a cohesive sensory environment.

Accessibility and flow are central to the club’s design. Guests can enter directly from the beach or the street, with interconnected spaces that accommodate both lively gatherings and tranquil moments. The Balinese bed area, art gallery, and open-plan restaurant ensure a dynamic yet harmonious experience, reflecting the club’s ethos of unity and sophistication.

Recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in 2025, Numa Beach exemplifies outstanding expertise and innovation in interior space design. The project not only elevates the standard for Mediterranean beach clubs but also sets a new benchmark for integrating nature, art, and technology in lifestyle destinations.

Numa Beach invites visitors to savor every moment, where minimalism and Mediterranean spirit converge in an unforgettable sensory symphony.
