Located in Haitang Bay, Hainan Island, CTG Sanya Treasure stands as a testament to the evolution of residential architecture in tropical climates. The project comprises 38 medium-rise towers, thoughtfully arranged within a vibrant jungle landscape beside a river. Each tower features only two private residences per floor, ensuring privacy while maintaining a sense of community. The design’s hallmark is its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces, achieved through wrap-around balconies and open floor plans that encourage natural cross-ventilation and panoramic views.
Inspired by the dream of a harmonious tropical lifestyle, Porto Folio Architects envisioned a community where families could experience the joys of nature daily. The landscape design at ground level employs overhanging trees and dense vegetation, cleverly concealing tower entrances and inviting residents to discover their homes by surprise. This approach not only enhances privacy but also creates a sense of wonder and exploration within the community.
Material selection and construction methods reflect a commitment to sustainability and local context. The use of locally sourced materials, dark reflective glass balustrades for privacy, and energy-efficient windows demonstrates an emphasis on environmental responsibility. Gently pitched roofs manage rainfall effectively while concealing mechanical elements, and projecting balcony edges provide additional shading, reducing heat gain in living spaces.
Master planning was central to the project’s success, with careful consideration given to pedestrian circulation and connectivity to nearby commercial and cultural amenities. Residents benefit from easy access to a new commercial center, enhancing the convenience and vibrancy of the neighborhood. Communal facilities and varied apartment sizes, ranging from 138m² to 591m², cater to diverse family needs and lifestyles, reinforcing the project’s inclusive ethos.
CTG Sanya Treasure’s journey was marked by adaptability and rigorous research. The design team navigated evolving height regulations, producing over 50 master plan iterations before finalizing the scheme. Extensive market research informed every aspect of the project, from apartment layouts to amenity offerings, ensuring alignment with the needs and aspirations of future residents. The project’s excellence was recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in 2025, celebrating its technical innovation and artistic merit.
CTG Sanya Treasure exemplifies how thoughtful architecture and landscape design can elevate residential living, fostering a sense of belonging and well-being in a lush, tropical setting. As completion approaches in 2025, the development stands poised to inspire future communities seeking harmony between nature and modern life.
