At the heart of Exquisite Taste lies the concept of "flow," seamlessly integrating two households into a single, cohesive living space. The living room is thoughtfully divided by an artistic painted ceiling that extends gracefully to the TV wall, creating a dynamic interplay of materials and light. This approach not only defines distinct areas but also maintains visual purity, with the entrance to the audio-visual room discreetly concealed within the TV wall. Display cabinets, crafted from floor-to-ceiling titanium-plated iron and illuminated by indirect lighting, elegantly showcase curated collections, highlighting both form and function.

Yi Chun Chung’s design stands apart through its meticulous attention to both aesthetics and practicality. The residence draws inspiration from boutique window displays and hotel-style layouts, resulting in a home that balances artistic boundaries with functional order. The curved entrance, reminiscent of welcoming arms, serves as both a symbolic gesture of belonging and a clever spatial solution, integrating storage and wardrobe facilities behind smooth, Italian art-painted surfaces.

The dining area becomes a focal point, featuring golden imported lighting that accentuates an oval stone-topped table. This setting fosters an atmosphere of understated luxury and warmth, ideal for both intimate family gatherings and elegant entertaining. A custom double arc-shaped sideboard and wine rack enhance storage while playing with light and shadow, further distinguishing the space. The adjacent light food area features an island with a unique imitation leather paint texture, complemented by leather-colored chairs, inviting residents to savor daily rituals from morning coffee to evening wine.

Material selection and lighting design are central to the project’s success. Laminate flooring, Italian paint, iron detailing, and titanium plating are thoughtfully combined to create a tactile and visually rich environment. Light is carefully refracted onto a marble back wall, establishing a low-key yet luxurious ambiance that transforms the residence into an ongoing artistic dialogue between light, shadow, and objects.

Collaboration with the residents played a pivotal role in shaping the final design. By prioritizing human-centric solutions, Yi Chun Chung ensured that the space not only meets practical needs but also enhances the quality of daily life. The project’s completion in 2024 marks a significant achievement in residential design, earning a Bronze A' Design Award in 2025 for its ingenuity and contribution to lifestyle improvement.
