Eurobump Unfold: Redefining the Modern Workspace

Belis Memik’s adaptive office design champions flexibility and well-being

In response to the rapidly evolving demands of contemporary work culture, Belis Memik introduces the Eurobump Multifunctional Workspace, a project that reimagines the traditional office. Inspired by the need for adaptability and collaboration, the design integrates flexible zones, modular elements, and abundant natural light to create a dynamic setting. The workspace’s bold wood tones and nature-inspired hues foster a sense of calm, supporting both productivity and well-being.

What sets Eurobump Unfold apart is its commitment to seamless adaptability. Modular workstations and flexible zones allow for effortless transitions between focused tasks, teamwork, and informal interactions. Ergonomic solutions are woven throughout the space, ensuring comfort and efficiency. The use of sustainable materials, such as FSC-certified wood and energy-efficient glass, underscores a dedication to environmental responsibility while enhancing the workspace’s aesthetic appeal.

The realization of this project was grounded in thorough research, including ethnographic studies and employee interviews. This approach ensured that the design addressed the unique needs of a car parts factory office, balancing operational efficiency with employee satisfaction. Precision CNC machining enabled the creation of modular components that fit together flawlessly, while Tarkett modular vinyl tiles replaced traditional stone flooring to improve acoustics and ease of maintenance.

Spanning 512 square meters above a product warehouse in Istanbul, the workspace faced technical challenges, such as its north-facing orientation and the need for effective insulation. These were overcome with advanced HVAC systems and thoughtful material choices. The project’s success also hinged on overcoming initial resistance from stakeholders, achieved through research-backed advocacy for modern workspace dynamics.

Eurobump Unfold’s innovative approach has earned it the Bronze A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2025, recognizing its creative ingenuity and positive impact on quality of life. By prioritizing adaptability, sustainability, and human-centered design, Belis Memik sets a new standard for industrial office environments, demonstrating how thoughtful architecture can drive both productivity and well-being.
