Geometric Clear: Redefining Office Interiors for Innovation

Cell Resources office blends clarity, confidence, and cellular inspiration.

Good Place’s design for Cell Resolutions’ Tokyo office introduces a visionary approach to workspace interiors, merging geometric precision with the fluidity of water to reflect the essence of regenerative medicine.

The Cell Resources office, located in Haneda Innovation City, Tokyo, stands as a testament to the transformative power of design in the workplace. Drawing inspiration from the fundamental structure of living organisms—organs composed of diverse cells and water—Good Place developed the "Geometric Clear" concept. This approach emphasizes cleanliness, confidence, and the potential inherent in cellular structures, realized through a harmonious blend of sharp geometric forms and a water-inspired color palette.

The spatial configuration of the office is meticulously planned to support both collaboration and confidentiality. Three distinct zones define the layout: a welcoming entrance suitable for seminars and external meetings, a secure internal meeting room for confidential discussions, and a flexible workspace designed for adaptability. This zoning not only enhances functionality but also fosters a sense of unity, with each area benefiting from the fluid interplay of colors and forms inspired by water’s versatility.

Technological innovation is evident throughout the design. The ceiling lighting system employs angled fixtures with a profile system, ensuring even illumination without dark joints. Consistent geometric motifs appear in the walls and furniture, featuring sharp corners and clean lines. Materials such as glass, sheer curtains, and painted finishes are strategically used to maximize light transmission and reflection, accentuating the crisp geometry. The flooring, composed of specially designed tiles, minimizes dust accumulation, supporting the clean aesthetic and practical needs of a laboratory environment.

Interaction within the space is thoughtfully considered. The central office table, set at an angle and offering dual height settings, encourages dynamic communication among team members. A counter table by the window provides a dedicated area for focused work, while the adjustable geometric ceiling lighting allows for tailored brightness levels, adapting to various tasks and moods. This flexibility addresses the challenges of long working hours and potential stagnation, offering a liberating environment that supports concentration, meetings, and visitor engagement.

Underlying the design is comprehensive research into regenerative medicine and workplace behavior. Good Place conducted in-depth discussions, on-site surveys, and behavioral analysis case studies to identify user needs and industry challenges. The resulting design not only aligns with the company’s image of trust and sophistication but also contributes to improved quality of life for its users—a quality recognized by the Bronze A' Design Award in 2025.

Cell Resources exemplifies how thoughtful design can elevate the everyday experience, merging scientific inspiration with practical innovation to create a workspace that is as functional as it is inspiring.
