Drawing inspiration from the mythological phoenix, Phoenix Kanri’s design reflects the company’s founding vision of resilience and continual renewal. The entrance features a striking motif inspired by a bird’s primary feather, symbolizing forward movement and the flow of air as a bird ascends. This thematic approach is evident throughout the workspace, where elements of flight and rebirth are woven into the architecture and interior details.
The relocation and expansion of the office were prompted by business growth, leading to a comprehensive survey of staff needs and usage patterns. This research informed the creation of specialized zones, including dedicated meeting and VIP areas, alongside the main workspace. The design aims to foster both corporate and cultural revitalization, offering an environment that supports productivity while welcoming guests with a sense of hospitality.
Technological innovation is central to the realization of Phoenix Kanri’s unique features. The atrium’s handrail, constructed from three layers of laminated glass, creates a visually compelling sense of depth. Sandblasted etched glass highlights the feather motif, casting intricate shadows and emphasizing the multi-layered structure. In the hallway, mirrored corrugated panels and elongated lighting fixtures evoke the sensation of being beneath the ocean’s surface, providing an immersive and memorable experience for visitors.
Flexibility and accessibility are key considerations in the office’s functionality. A separate co-working space accommodates events and gatherings, with movable fixtures allowing for easy reconfiguration. Natural materials, such as stone and wood, are integrated throughout, reflecting the client’s expertise in real estate and commitment to sustainability. Furnishings are designed to ensure comfort and ease of movement, particularly for elderly guests, demonstrating thoughtful attention to detail.
The design process involved extensive research and iterative development, including the creation of multiple mockups to perfect the ceiling’s decorative elements. Achieving a harmonious unity, accentuating the wing-like forms with strategic lighting, and refining structural details were among the challenges addressed. The result is an office environment that transcends conventional expectations, offering a space that inspires both employees and visitors.
Phoenix Kanri has been recognized with a Silver A' Design Award, celebrating its outstanding expertise, technical innovation, and artistic excellence. This achievement underscores the project’s success in introducing a sense of wonder and amazement to the realm of office interiors.
Phoenix Kanri stands as a testament to the power of inspired design in shaping environments that nurture productivity, creativity, and well-being. By merging symbolic motifs with advanced materials and thoughtful spatial planning, Good Place sets a new standard for office interiors that elevate both corporate identity and daily experience.
