Trustlucent: The Floating Table Redefining Minimalist Dining

Inspired by the concept of a supportive yet unobtrusive presence, Trustlucent was born from a client’s desire to keep windows unobstructed by traditional furniture. The design philosophy draws from the qualities of trust and lucency—reliable, strong, and quietly enhancing daily life. The table’s minimalist form, coupled with its floating illusion, allows natural light to flow beneath, ensuring it integrates harmoniously into any modern interior while maintaining both function and elegance.

Trustlucent distinguishes itself through its refined material palette and engineering. Thin, reinforced beech wood edges provide durability without bulk, while a 2mm oak veneer surface resists moisture and scratches, ensuring longevity. The 16mm tempered glass base is both visually light and structurally robust, allowing light to pass through and enhancing the table’s floating appearance. Hidden connections and an inverted pyramid form not only add visual intrigue but also reinforce the table’s stability, making it suitable for attachment to kitchen islands or walls for dining, studying, or gathering.

The realization of Trustlucent required innovative technology. A specialized system connects the glass and wood components without inducing stress, a challenge addressed through extensive structural analysis with engineering experts. The pyramid-shaped base and a U-shaped aluminum profile secure the table to the floor, absorbing potential forces and ensuring long-term stability. This meticulous attention to structural integrity allows the table to maintain its delicate appearance while offering reliable support.

Technical specifications include dimensions of 1400L x 700W x 750H mm and a weight of 60 kg, with customization available upon request. The table’s design team, led by creative director Sadra Boushehri, collaborated closely to refine every detail, from wood selection to color matching, ensuring both aesthetic precision and functional excellence. The project, completed in Tehran between September and October 2023, reflects a fusion of art, technology, and safety.

Trustlucent’s accolades include the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in Kitchen Furniture, Equipment, and Fixtures Design for 2025, recognizing its innovative approach and significant impact on contemporary design.
