Stay Gold stands as a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful design. Drawing inspiration from the residence’s unique architectural features—such as soaring ceilings and panoramic views—Chen Yu Chiu crafts a living space that celebrates simplicity and the intrinsic beauty of materials. The project’s guiding philosophy is rooted in the wabi-sabi tradition, embracing imperfection and authenticity while stripping away superfluous ornamentation.

Central to Stay Gold’s appeal is its innovative use of organic textures and fluid curves. The design team skillfully converts structural challenges, like protruding beams, into elegant focal points. Flexible plywood forms smooth, sweeping partitions, while suede-textured mineral paint enhances the diffusion of natural light throughout the 110.7-square-meter home. Handcrafted rattan and natural wood veneer introduce warmth and tactility, creating a harmonious interplay between light, shadow, and material.

The residence’s layout is meticulously planned to maximize openness and interaction. Three bedrooms, two living areas, and two bathrooms are seamlessly integrated, with custom-built curved partitions and concealed storage solutions preserving the minimalist aesthetic. The spatial narrative guides residents through gentle transitions, from the welcoming foyer to intimate private zones, ensuring both comfort and connectivity. This approach transforms everyday movement into a series of engaging, sensory experiences.

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the Stay Gold project. The material palette prioritizes eco-friendly choices, including mineral-based suede paint and recyclable natural elements. Advanced woodworking techniques and a multi-phase production process ensure technical precision and durability, while also highlighting the handcrafted artistry behind each detail. Stay Gold’s creative ingenuity has not gone unnoticed.
