Light and Harmony draws inspiration from the evolving dynamics of modern families, particularly the need to balance togetherness with personal space. In traditional Chinese households, busy schedules often limit family interaction. Addressing this, Kris Lin introduces an open-plan design that merges dining, kitchen, and living areas, encouraging daily connection and shared experiences. This approach reflects a deep understanding of family life, aiming to foster communication while respecting individual privacy.

The model house stands out for its seamless integration of aesthetics and functionality. Soft, light tones paired with grey accents and natural wood finishes create an inviting atmosphere, while materials such as bronze stainless steel, marble, and tea glass add sophistication. The furniture selection—combining wood, stone, leather, and velvet—offers both comfort and visual interest. Large windows and reflective surfaces maximize natural light, enhancing the sense of spaciousness and warmth throughout the home.

Technical innovation is evident in the living room’s feature wall, constructed from marble slabs measuring 1000mm x 18mm x 1900mm. Using a dry-hanging technique, the marble is mounted on a steel frame, allowing for easy recycling during future renovations. This sustainable approach aligns with contemporary values, ensuring luxury does not come at the expense of environmental responsibility.

Functionality remains central to the design. The open communal areas promote family interaction, while private spaces—such as restful bedrooms and a quiet study—cater to individual needs.
