Eternal Moon: Redefining Mooncake Packaging Art

The "Eternal Moon" Mid-Autumn Art Gift Box, designed by Sha Feng and Jiayi Lu, stands as a testament to the evolving landscape of cultural packaging. Drawing inspiration from the dynamic interplay between the moon and eight distinct earthly realms—fire, flowers, stones, clouds, sea, wind, mountains, and forest—the design encapsulates the universal longing for unity and continuity. Departing from traditional motifs such as Chang’e and the moon rabbit, the designers approach the mooncake box as a canvas for broader themes. The narrative shifts to emphasize the community of human destiny and the enduring presence of the moon, particularly resonant in the context of the post-epidemic world. This perspective encourages a renewed appreciation for shared experiences and the bonds that transcend time and circumstance.

Technically, the packaging employs advanced spot color printing and hot stamping processes, resulting in a visually striking and tactilely engaging product. The gift box measures 335mm by 75mm by 195mm, while each mooncake box is precisely crafted at 70mm by 70mm by 35mm. These dimensions, combined with meticulous craftsmanship, ensure both aesthetic appeal and functional integrity.
