Meet Purple: Romantic American Interiors with a British Twist

Chiun Ju Interior Design crafts a dreamy, lavender-hued sanctuary in Taiwan

Drawing on the timeless appeal of American interiors, Meet Purple introduces a gentle romanticism through subtle British design cues and a serene lavender palette. The project’s vision was to create a space that felt both refined and relaxed, moving away from ornate traditional elements. Gold and champagne gold accents punctuate the design, elevating the atmosphere while maintaining a sense of everyday comfort. This approach results in a home that is as visually captivating as it is functional, tailored to the rhythms of daily life.

Distinctive features set Meet Purple apart from conventional interiors. The foyer, for example, replaces solid walls with transparent glass and elegant grille accents, allowing natural light to flow freely and creating dynamic transitions between spaces. Ceiling trims are meticulously proportioned, adding architectural depth without overwhelming the senses. The dreamy lavender tones in the dining and study areas provide a soft contrast to the carefully curated materials, enhancing the overall sense of harmony and sophistication.

Material innovation and craftsmanship are at the core of this project’s realization. Iron detailing, eco-friendly latex paint, and F1-grade SPC flooring are combined with advanced joinery and custom metal grilles, ensuring both durability and aesthetic appeal. The strategic use of glass, reflection, and translucency amplifies spatial perception, while thoughtful lighting design further enriches the modern yet inviting ambiance. These elements work together to create a seamless blend of form and function.

Spanning 1157 square meters, the residence features a three plus one bedroom layout, including an open living and dining area, a master suite, and a dedicated study. The design team reimagined the master suite by removing restrictive partitions and repositioning the bed according to Feng Shui principles, optimizing both spatial efficiency and comfort. Every aspect of the layout is guided by ergonomic and structural considerations, ensuring a practical yet luxurious living experience.

Sustainability and user well-being are integral to Meet Purple’s design philosophy. Research-driven choices, such as eco-friendly materials and ergonomic planning, contribute to improved indoor air quality and reduced maintenance costs. The project’s success is evident not only in its accolades—such as the Bronze A' Design Award—but also in the homeowners’ satisfaction, who found the transformed space to be a harmonious retreat perfect for relaxation and connection.
