PIX Beastie: Revolutionizing Urban Mobility with Biomimetic Design

Futuristic two-seater electric vehicle blends AI, 3D printing, and personalization.

PIX Beastie by PIX Moving reimagines city travel, merging advanced technology with organic inspiration to create a unique, efficient, and customizable electric vehicle.

PIX Beastie stands out as a bold response to the monotony of contemporary urban vehicles. Drawing inspiration from the biomechanical structure of dinosaur skulls, PIX Moving has crafted a two-seater electric vehicle that not only captures attention with its skeletal lines but also addresses the practical challenges of navigating narrow city streets and limited parking. The compact dimensions—measuring 2503mm in width, 1460mm in depth, and 1603mm in height—make it particularly suited for European urban environments where space is at a premium.

At the heart of PIX Beastie’s innovation is the integration of AI-powered generative design and industrial metal 3D printing. This combination allows for the creation of complex, organic geometries that traditional manufacturing methods cannot achieve. The process involves structural topology optimization and simulation design, ensuring both lightweight construction and enhanced strength. According to PIX Moving, this approach not only maximizes material efficiency but also results in a vehicle that is both visually striking and functionally robust.

Customization is a defining feature of PIX Beastie. The rear LED lights can display any pattern or text, offering users a new way to express their individuality on the road. Inside, a modular dashboard invites drivers to personalize their environment, enhancing the sense of ownership and engagement. The vehicle’s AI voice assistant provides both driving support and emotional companionship, making the driving experience smoother and more interactive.

PIX Beastie’s development journey, which began in China in June 2023, reflects a commitment to research-driven innovation. The design team, including experts in automotive engineering, industrial design, and artificial intelligence, focused on optimizing material use and user experience. Prototyping and rigorous testing led to significant improvements in strength, energy efficiency, and overall performance. The vehicle debuted at the Okinawa Expo in Japan in November 2024 and is set to appear at the IAA Mobility exhibition in Germany in September 2025.

The project overcame significant technical challenges, particularly in translating biomimetic concepts into manufacturable automotive structures. Advanced algorithms were employed to refine material distribution and printing angles, ensuring that the final product maintained both aesthetic appeal and structural integrity. The result is a vehicle that not only advances the art and science of mobility but also sets a new standard for sustainable, user-centric urban transportation.

PIX Beastie’s recognition with the Golden A' Design Award in 2025 underscores its impact as a trendsetting creation in vehicle design. By seamlessly blending futuristic minimalism with retro nostalgia, and leveraging cutting-edge technology, PIX Moving has delivered a micro electric vehicle that redefines what urban mobility can be—efficient, expressive, and extraordinary.
