Located in Athens and slated for completion in May 2025, The V House—also known as Boomerang—stands as a pioneering example of how modern architecture can harmonize with sustainability. Designed by Vassilis Siafaricas, the project transforms an existing structure into a future LEED Gold-certified, net-zero energy residence, integrating nature and technology to create a new vision for luxury living. The design draws inspiration from LEED principles, aiming to minimize environmental impact while offering the highest standards of comfort and style.
Spanning 425 square meters across four levels, The V House incorporates advanced smart home technologies and energy-efficient systems. Features such as KNX automation, triple-glazed windows, and high-performance insulation ensure optimal energy use and climate control. A rooftop pool heated by an eco-friendly pump, along with integrated photovoltaic panels, further enhance the home’s green credentials. These elements work together to provide seamless automation and effortless control, allowing the residence to adapt to its occupants’ needs while reducing energy consumption.
Biophilic design principles are at the core of The V House, with open spaces, natural materials, and abundant daylight fostering a strong connection to nature. The residence’s clean lines and contemporary aesthetic are complemented by sustainable materials, promoting both visual harmony and environmental stewardship. The use of parametric modeling and energy simulations during the design process enabled the team to optimize every aspect of the building’s performance, from insulation to renewable energy integration.
The project’s realization involved overcoming significant challenges, particularly in retrofitting an older structure to meet stringent LEED standards. By conducting detailed energy audits and implementing innovative solutions, the design team succeeded in balancing architectural integrity with cutting-edge green technologies. The result is a home that not only meets but exceeds industry best practices, setting a new standard for eco-friendly luxury real estate in Greece.
Recognized with the Iron A’ Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design Award in 2025, The V House exemplifies how thoughtful design can contribute to a better world. By promoting urban cooling, biodiversity, and enhanced green space, this residence demonstrates that high-end aesthetics and environmental responsibility can coexist, inspiring future developments in sustainable architecture.
The V House stands as a testament to the possibilities of modern, sustainable living, offering a blueprint for integrating advanced technology, green design, and luxury in urban environments.
