Home Space, designed by Fundesign.tv, challenges the prevailing image of technology-driven homes as cold or impersonal. Drawing inspiration from the gentle flow of data and the quiet moments of daily rituals, the project seeks to humanize technology. The result is a sanctuary where innovation recedes into the background, allowing comfort and tranquility to take center stage. The design’s ethos is rooted in the belief that technology should serve quietly, enhancing the beauty of stillness rather than demanding attention.
What sets Home Space apart is its seamless integration of artificial intelligence, which enables the environment to listen, adapt, and respond to its inhabitants. Minimalist aesthetics, concealed lighting, and refined appliances work in harmony to create a futuristic yet serene atmosphere. The AI-driven system intuitively manages lighting, temperature, and appliance activation, ensuring that every interaction is effortless and almost poetic. This approach transforms daily routines into moments of clarity and calm, making the space feel both intelligent and deeply human.
The realization of Home Space involved a meticulous approach to both technology and design. Appliances are integrated with intuitive user experiences, while ergonomic placement optimizes flow and accessibility. Ambient lighting is programmed to mimic natural circadian rhythms and emotional states, supporting well-being throughout the day. Interfaces remain hidden until needed, reducing visual clutter and promoting a sense of calm. Smart zoning technology further personalizes the environment, adjusting settings based on presence and activity.
Spanning 60 square meters with a ceiling height of 2.5 meters, the shop was completed in February 2025 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The design process was informed by extensive user-centered research, including interviews, behavior mapping, and prototype testing with households aged 30 to 55. Findings highlighted the importance of low-stimulus environments and invisible technology, shaping a space that balances advanced functionality with emotional comfort. Overcoming challenges such as complex AI integration and nighttime construction in a busy rail station, the team delivered a space that is both technically sophisticated and welcoming.
Home Space’s innovative approach has garnered international recognition, earning a Bronze A' Design Award for its creative ingenuity and contribution to quality of life. By merging cutting-edge technology with human-centered design, Fundesign.tv offers a compelling vision for the future of smart living—one where homes are not just intelligent, but also emotionally attuned sanctuaries.
This project invites a reimagining of how people interact with their living spaces, encouraging a shift towards environments that nurture well-being, clarity, and connection. Home Space stands as a testament to the power of design to make technology invisible, intuitive, and truly supportive of modern lifestyles.
