Artbell's Landscape Design Wins Silver A' Design Award

The Cloud Building, designed by Artbell, is a landscape design that respects the conditions of the project site and echoes the architectural style. The design extends the modern form and uses geometric facade cutting combined with light interaction to create a rich sensory experience. The design was inspired by the need to create a future living space that integrates modern technology with traditional gardening ideas.

The unique properties of the Cloud Building design lie in its integration of space transformation, plants, and atmosphere creation, all of which interpret and emphasize the beauty of space and nature. The project also features regional charm without any trace, creating a future cloud living space full of imagination and familiarity.

The realization of the Cloud Building design involved the use of paving and lawn to form an open and clear space experience. A large area of floor-to-ceiling glass complements the special-shaped planting pond, effectively integrating the landscape with the indoor scene. The pragmatic design is adopted as a whole, and regular-sized granite paving stones are used, which also reduces the construction difficulty and construction cost.

With an area of 4,052 square meters, the Cloud Building project is themed with the cloud architecture idea. The modern hard landscaping, metal materials, lighting interaction, intelligent sensing and voice control systems are used to create a modern, technological, and interactive and intelligent future cloud life.

The Cloud Building project started in November 2019 and finished in June 2020 in Nanchang, Jiangxi, China. The minimal and open space form complements the architecture and the landscape, where visitors can appreciate the architecture from the perspective of the city. The modern planting pond welcomes visitors in a simple and elegant form, guides the flow into the demonstration area to explore high-quality living spaces.

The Cloud Building design faced challenges such as the need for future demolition and modification of the site. Therefore, the area beyond the red line is mainly planned as a parking lot, entrance wall and a small area of waterscape. Inside the red line, it is mainly a green garden where the large trees can be transplanted to a large area after the demonstration is over. The atrium is mainly made by gravel landscape, which is flexible for the future transformation.

The Cloud Building design was awarded Silver in A' Landscape Planning and Garden Design Award in 2021. The Silver A' Design Award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
