Osia Villa: Blurring Boundaries of Indoor and Outdoor Living

A Private Luxury Residence Designed by Prashant Chauhan

A private property overlooking paddy farms spread over 28,000 Sqft of land, Osia Villa is a testament to the seamless integration of nature and architecture. Designed by renowned architect Prashant Chauhan, this single-owner luxury residence redefines the concept of indoor and outdoor living.

The design of Osia Villa aims to marry the inside and outside, blurring the boundaries of a sheltered home. The highlight of the villa is the private deck on the entertainment floor, offering breathtaking views of the setting sun over the paddy fields. This space provides a perfect balance between indoor and outdoor areas, allowing residents to enjoy the beauty of nature while still being sheltered.

One of the unique features of Osia Villa is its use of locally sourced materials. The entire pavement for the villa was done using waste granite pieces, adding a touch of sustainability to the design. This not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also showcases the designer's commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

The design team, led by Prashant Chauhan as the Creative Director and Anu Chauhan as the Project Architect, worked closely with local craftsmen to bring the vision of Osia Villa to life. Regular site visits were conducted to ensure the smooth execution of the design, which was made in Mumbai and then transported to the site.

The design process for Osia Villa started in February 2017 and was completed by March 2019. Throughout the project, the team faced various challenges, one of which was executing the pergola on the first floor. However, with creative problem-solving and the support of the existing beam grid, this challenge was successfully overcome.

The villa features two terraces, each offering a unique experience. The east terrace is designed as a breakfast setup, allowing residents to start their day surrounded by the beauty of nature. On the other hand, the west terrace on the second level exudes a more relaxed and laid-back vibe, making it the perfect spot for sundowners.

Osia Villa has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that showcase exceptional technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
