Revolutionizing Urban Mobility: The Duckt Charging Station

Evren Yazıcı's Innovative Solution for Micromobility Charging and Parking

In the rapidly evolving world of urban transportation, a new player has emerged, promising to revolutionize the way we think about micromobility. Meet Duckt, a universal charging infrastructure solution designed by Evren Yazıcı. This multifunctional street furniture not only charges but also docks and locks any micromobility vehicle, shared or private, regardless of model or make.

With the rise of micromobility, cities worldwide are grappling with the challenge of providing adequate charging and parking facilities for a growing fleet of e-bikes, e-scooters, and other electric vehicles. According to McKinsey, by 2030, this industry is projected to be worth 400 billion USD, with 30 million new vehicles on our streets. Duckt is poised to meet this demand by offering a dedicated infrastructure for these vehicles.

What sets Duckt apart is its patented plug-and-play adapter. To use Duckt, simply push your vehicle into the station. Within a second, the station recognizes your vehicle, ends the ride automatically, locks the vehicle, and begins charging. This seamless process not only offers convenience to users but also helps cities regulate the shared micromobility space and generate new revenue.

Duckt is built to last. The station is made from ASTM A36 low-carbon steel and coated with Jotun Super Durable 2901 Qualicoat Class 2 Powder Coating, which has a Green Building Certificate. The locking mechanism, made from stainless steel, has passed the 250,000 mark in testing and continues to be tested for durability.

The development of Duckt was a year-long process, from September 2019 to 2020, involving both a pilot program in a campus area and laboratory testing. The pilot program helped improve the product's durability and design, while the laboratory tests ensured it met endurance and strength standards. The result is a product that not only meets the demands of the growing micromobility market but also sets new security standards in the industry.

Duckt's innovative design and functionality have not gone unnoticed. The charging station was awarded Silver in the A' Street and City Furniture Design Award in 2021, a testament to its remarkable design and innovation. As cities continue to embrace micromobility, Duckt is set to play a crucial role in shaping the future of urban transportation.
