Sadler: Revolutionizing Mobility with a Foldable Electric Bike

Designed by Gianluca Sada, Sadler's Innovative Design Marries Functionality with Exclusive Materials

Introducing Sadler, a foldable electric bike designed by Gianluca Sada. This innovative design aims to revolutionize mobility, offering a sustainable, compact, and stylish solution to urban transportation. The bike's unique properties and high-quality materials make it a standout in the realm of personal mobility.

The inspiration behind Sadler stems from a desire to create a new mobility system that integrates with other transportation systems while respecting the environment. The bike's personal style and versatility make it a dynamic alternative to traditional bicycles, aligning with a growing environmental conscience and the desire for a sustainable lifestyle.

Sadler is not just a bike; it's a design marvel. Made in carbon fiber, it boasts a hubless design and is foldable, making it the world's most compact bike when folded. It measures only 26 inches in its compact form. Available in three versions - classic, 3-gear shift, and electric motor - Sadler Bike is versatile and light, suitable for street, urban, and soft-outdoor environments. This 100 percent Made in Italy bike combines functionality with exclusive materials.

The bike's frame and finish are made with carbon fiber Epoxy Resin System, and the base body is made with aeronautical aluminum alloy. Other features include anodized hoops, a carbon fiber carter with real wood profiles, and a tube handle and ergonomic seat made with real Italian handcrafted leather. The bike also comes with a three-gear shift on the pedal shaft and an electric engine built into the drive hub. The battery level can be monitored through a Bluetooth app.

Sadler's design journey started in 2010 in Torino and reached the prototype stage in 2020 at Adler Airola plant. Over the years, it has won several awards, including the Golden A' Design Award 2020 and D'AC 2020. The bike's design is protected with a patent for industrial invention in the EU and USA: Foldable bicycle with spokeless wheels.

The foldable bike's design posed several challenges, primarily centered on reducing weight and bulk. Traditional foldable bikes often compromise on stability and rider comfort to achieve compactness and portability. However, Sadler's design overcomes these challenges by maintaining standard dimensions and offering a reduced bulk in the transport phase. The spokeless wheels, one-move folding system, and packaging that doubles as a backpack are some of the innovations of this project.

In conclusion, Sadler is a testament to innovative design and sustainable living. Its unique features, coupled with its stylish design and high-quality materials, make it a game-changer in the realm of personal mobility. As urban spaces continue to evolve, solutions like Sadler will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation.
