Left Bank: A Fusion of Technology and Ecology

Tongji Architectural Design Co., Ltd's Award-Winning Park Design

Left Bank, a unique park design by Tongji Architectural Design Co., Ltd, is an embodiment of technology and ecology. The design, which won the Silver A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award in 2021, is a testament to the innovative and creative prowess of the design team.

The design of Left Bank is inspired by the concept of "double lines", which combines the themes of technology and ecology. The most distinctive feature is the double helix structure of the sky corridor, which connects multiple exhibition halls and the ecological landscape on both sides of the river. This architectural marvel is situated on the Maozhou River, the mother river of Shenzhen, and is representative of the comprehensive regulation and ecological transformation of the river.

What sets Left Bank apart is the emphasis on the lighting of the site space nodes and plants. The architectural lighting is based on the modeling of the folding board of the building. Combined with the design of indoor lighting, it illuminates the inside and outside of the folded roof to strengthen the sense of the sequence of the building. The lighting design continues the architectural concept, using continuous linear light to strengthen the "double-line" landscape form. The dynamic effect of "double-line flow" is achieved during special periods through the DMX512 control system.

The park covers a total of 78626 square meters and is a complex park integrating science and technology exhibitions and ecological experience. The lighting scenes in weekday, weekend, and festival modes provide a better balance between visual effects and energy control. Anti-glare buried lamps are used on the ground floor to illuminate the pillars and ceiling to ensure soft reflected illumination in the walkway. The sky corridor adopts 3000K linear lamps embedded in the handrails of the corridor bridge to provide functional lighting on the ground and ensure the continuity of the night landscape space.

The project started in January 2019 in Shenzhen and was completed in October 2020. The design team faced the challenge of creating a lighting control system that not only increases vitality at night but is also conducive to light energy savings. This was successfully achieved, making Left Bank a shining example of innovative and sustainable design.

Left Bank is a testament to the creative and technical abilities of the design team at Tongji Architectural Design Co., Ltd. The design has won the prestigious Silver A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award in 2021, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation.
