Peaceful: Scented Tea Packaging Inspired by Cheongsam

A Fusion of Tradition and Elegance

Wang Jinsheng, a renowned designer from China, has created a stunning packaging design that merges the elegance of cheongsam with the delicate aroma of scented tea. The "Peaceful" packaging design aims to captivate the target audience with its harmonious blend of classical aesthetics and contemporary appeal.

The inspiration for this unique design came from the designer's desire to create a packaging that would resonate with the target group of scented tea consumers. By featuring beauties wearing cheongsam, a traditional Chinese dress known for its grace and sophistication, the packaging immediately establishes a connection with the intended audience.

What sets this packaging design apart is its ability to evoke synesthesia, creating an association between the visual beauty of the cheongsam and the elegant, quiet, and beautiful experience of enjoying scented tea. The use of hand-painted patterns on the aluminum can packaging adds a touch of artistry and craftsmanship, elevating the overall aesthetic appeal.

The "Peaceful" packaging design not only showcases the designer's creativity but also demonstrates a deep understanding of the cultural significance of cheongsam and scented tea. Technically, the packaging design utilizes gravure printing to transfer the hand-painted patterns onto the aluminum can. The protective and adhesive layers of the packaging ensure the tea's freshness and quality, providing excellent barrier properties, hygienic safety, and heat sealability.

The dimensions of the packaging are 75mm in width, 200mm in length, and 45mm in height, making it compact and convenient for storage and display.

With the "Peaceful" packaging design, Wang Jinsheng and his team, including Xie Jin, Feng Meiyan, Chen Shiguang, Lin Hai, and Deng Shaobiao, have successfully created a design that not only appeals to the senses but also reflects the essence of Chinese tradition and elegance.

This design project, which started in September 2020 and concluded in March 2021, was carried out in Kunming, China. The team conducted extensive research on cheongsam and scented tea to ensure the design's authenticity and cultural relevance.

The "Peaceful" packaging design has garnered recognition in the design community and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category in 2021. This prestigious award honors designs that are well-crafted, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial standards.
