Goldwater: A Luxurious Coffee Table Inspired by Water

An Unusual Shape that Reflects Organic Elegance

The Goldwater coffee table, designed by Oliver Bowien, is a stunning piece that draws inspiration from the surface of water. With its unique shape and luxurious materials, this table is not only a functional piece of furniture but also a work of art that can seamlessly integrate into modern interior settings.

Handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Goldwater coffee table is a true masterpiece. The base is made from multiplex wood, carefully cut and shaped by hand to create a sturdy and elegant foundation. The surface of the table is where the true magic happens - it is hand-carved to resemble the organic flow of water, giving it a natural and captivating appearance.

What sets the Goldwater coffee table apart is the use of brass sheeting that is artistically laid over the hand-carved surface. The brass is meticulously molded, hammered, and soldered to create a seamless and solid impression, without any visible seams or connections. This technique gives the table a luxurious and sophisticated look, elevating it to a true statement piece.

Measuring at W 122cm x D 76cm x H 36cm, the Goldwater coffee table is the perfect size to be a centerpiece in any living room or lounge area. Its organic shape adds a touch of elegance and uniqueness to any space, making it a conversation starter and a focal point of the room.

One of the remarkable features of the Goldwater coffee table is its functional design. Despite its wavy surface, the table is still practical for everyday use. Glasses and other items can be placed on the table without fear of them tipping over, thanks to the carefully crafted shape that provides stability while maintaining its artistic appeal.

The journey to bring the Goldwater coffee table to life was not without its challenges. The designer, Oliver Bowien, spent a significant amount of time researching and experimenting with different materials and construction methods to achieve the desired organic effect. Through extensive trial and error, the perfect combination of hand sculpturing, brass sheeting, and welding techniques was discovered, resulting in a seamless and visually stunning piece.

The Goldwater coffee table was first conceptualized in 2016 in Los Angeles, but it wasn't until January 2019 that the prototype production began. It made its debut to the public in June 2020, presented by Scala Luxury in Los Angeles. Since then, it has garnered attention and recognition, including the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in 2022 for its outstanding creativity and ingenious design.

With its elegant design, luxurious materials, and unique inspiration, the Goldwater coffee table is a testament to the beauty and artistry that can be achieved in furniture design. It is a true reflection of Oliver Bowien's vision and craftsmanship, showcasing the seamless integration of art, design, and functionality.
