Feng Cheng's Award-Winning Design Merges Tradition with Modernity

The Hongzhou Academy draws its inspiration from the rich cultural history of its location. The design pays homage to ancient Chinese architecture, with aluminum plates connected by buckles to create a unique brick texture on the facade. The smooth, arc-shaped curved surface outlines the skyline of the building, reminiscent of the eaves curve of ancient Chinese buildings.

As a sales center, the Hongzhou Academy serves multiple functions, including negotiation, handwork, children's activity space, and display. The building is strategically located at an intersection, with two typical blocks facing the urban road. These blocks shape the building, and the displaced part forms the entrance square, adding to the building's unique aesthetic appeal.

The choice of materials played a significant role in the realization of this design. After comparing the effect and cost of various materials, the design team opted for aluminum sheets for the roof.
