Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort: A Sustainable Master Plan

Preserving Nature and Celebrating Culture

The Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort Concept, designed by Dina Dridze, draws inspiration from the stunning natural landscapes and rich culture of the Adyghes region. With a focus on sustainability and a unique identity, this master plan aims to create a harmonious blend of nature, architecture, and local heritage.

The Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort is a one-of-a-kind development nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of the Adygea Republic in Russia. Designed to preserve the region's natural diversity, the resort offers a range of eco-friendly amenities and activities that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings.

The design of the resort takes cues from the traditional Adyghe housing, with buildings featuring a stone bottom, a wooden top, and a canopy gallery. This architectural style not only pays homage to the local culture but also blends seamlessly with the natural environment.

One of the key features of the resort is its commitment to eco-tourism and the exploration of the local culture and ethnicity. The development includes hotels, a cable car station, and related public infrastructure facilities, all carefully integrated into the challenging terrain characterized by changes in elevation and rocky hills. The surrounding relict trees further enhance the resort's unique charm.

The realization of the Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort involved extensive research and analysis of the landscape and visual aspects. The project utilized various programs to integrate the development into the difficult terrain, taking into account geological and forest inventory data. The design team also focused on identifying and preserving valuable natural objects, such as relict trees, ravines, and rocky hills.

With sustainability at its core, the resort incorporates resource-saving technologies and equipment. Buildings are equipped with energy-efficient features like thermostats, LED lighting, and smart lighting control systems. Rainwater collectors and water recycling systems further contribute to the project's eco-friendly approach, following the "Reduce + Reuse + Recycle" principle.

The Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort project began in November 2021 and is set to be completed in Q4 2024. Located in Dakhovskoye village, Maikop district, Republic of Adygea, Russia, the resort is poised to become a destination that offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural immersion, and sustainable living.

This visionary design by Dina Dridze and her team at RTDA LLC has been recognized for its excellence. The Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in City Planning and Urban Design in 2023. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that showcase creativity, technical skill, and a commitment to improving the quality of life.

With its sustainable approach, celebration of local culture, and stunning natural surroundings, the Lagonaki Mountain Eco Resort is set to become a model for future eco-friendly developments, offering a harmonious retreat for nature enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.
