Trido's design is based on the shapes of the tetrahedron and octahedron, fundamental forms in the geometry of Platonic solids. The patented magnetic system allows each side of each shape to connect to each other, aligning along the edges without repelling. This feature opens up limitless construction possibilities, making Trido a distinctive inspirational tool.
The color palette of Trido is designed to stand out and look modern, with a harmoniously balanced range of nuances and contrasts. The expressive magnetic eyes can bring any structure to life, adding an element of fun and character to the creations. These properties make Trido a unique addition to the world of building blocks, setting it apart from traditional offerings in the market.
Trido's patented magnetic system ensures a strong connection between shapes, providing a versatile assembly experience. The pieces are made of ABS plastic, with the magnets safely hidden inside a special inner "nest". This design has been protected by patents in the USA, European countries, China, Japan, and Korea.
Available in three sizes and six color palettes, Trido offers a variety of options for users. The sets range from small (12 pieces) to large (36 pieces), each including a mix of octahedrons, tetrahedrons, half tetrahedrons, and eyes. The color palettes - Jungle, Flamingo, Laguna, Sky, Honey, and Greyscale - offer a wide range of aesthetic choices.
Trido's journey began in 2017 with the development of the first prototypes. It made its debut at the London and Nuremberg Toy Fairs in 2018, and by 2020, sales had begun in Europe and China. In 2022, Trido won the prestigious Red Dot Award "Best of the Best".
Artur Tikhonenko's innovative design has overcome significant creative and technical challenges, particularly in developing the magnetic inner system for different shapes. However, the result is a remarkable product that combines art, design, and technology in a way that inspires both children and adults to create, explore, and learn.
