Embarking on a journey through the Al Moosa Pediatric Clinics, one is immediately enveloped in an environment that transcends the ordinary. CALINE MORCOS INTERIORS has meticulously crafted a space that is not just child-friendly, but a serene haven that promotes emotional well-being. Drawing inspiration from the desert and the phenomenon of the mirage, the design team has created an ethereal space with soothing colors and dream-like elements that both fascinate and comfort its young visitors.
The design's strength lies in its unique approach to pediatric healthcare environments. It is a space that is "child friendly and not childish," a subtle yet important distinction that ensures the environment is both comforting and stimulating. The materials palette, inspired by the desert landscape, features soothing natural tones punctuated by vibrant colors that stimulate the senses. The dynamic lines on the floor and ceiling inject a sense of movement and distraction, essential for a positive healthcare experience.
Technological tools such as Autocad LT and 3DS max played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. The design team's expertise is evident in the computer-generated imagery (CGI) that showcases key areas of the project, revealing a space that is both functional and imaginative. The project, which began in December 2023 and concluded in February 2024, demonstrates a swift and efficient design process, resulting in a space that is ready to welcome and inspire its young patients.
Extensive research underpins the Al Moosa Pediatric Clinics design, with CALINE MORCOS INTERIORS delving into various children's environments to inform their creative process. The desert oasis and mirage theme was explored in depth, with poetic imagery serving as a muse for the unconventional architectural language that defines the space. The result is a clinic that feels like the most beautiful place on earth, where reality and fantasy merge to create a therapeutic and captivating environment.
Despite the creative freedom, the design team faced and overcame significant challenges related to healthcare environments. Material selection, safety requirements, and hygiene considerations were meticulously addressed to ensure the clinic met the highest standards of healthcare design. The enchanting tree, sensory walls, peek-a-boo elements, and mushroom pods are not just aesthetically pleasing but are carefully chosen to stimulate cognitive development and curiosity in children.
The Al Moosa Pediatric Clinics by CALINE MORCOS INTERIORS stands as a testament to the power of design in healthcare settings. It is a space that embodies the magic of the desert, providing a sanctuary for healing and imagination. This remarkable project has been duly recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design for 2024, underscoring its exceptional design and profound impact on pediatric healthcare.
