The design team, consisting of Yating Qin, Duo Xu, Jijia Chen, and XingYe Wang, has reimagined the air purifier as a versatile household necessity. Point's sleek design allows for effortless installation without the need for drilling, making it an ideal choice for renters and those who frequently relocate. Its ability to adapt to different environments and provide real-time air quality assessments ensures a consistently pure atmosphere.

Point stands out with its dual functionality as both an air purifier and a floor lamp, addressing the common issue of limited space in urban dwellings. This innovative integration not only saves space but also reduces the need for multiple appliances, streamlining the modern living experience. The design's intelligence is evident in its responsive air volume adjustments, which correlate directly with the detected air quality, thus optimizing the purification process.

The technology behind Point is as impressive as its design. Equipped with advanced filters and UVC germicidal lamps, it efficiently eliminates dust, bacteria, and viruses, ensuring a cleaner living environment. The purifier's dimensions, 600 mm in width, 400 mm in depth, and 1800 mm in height, make it a subtle yet powerful addition to any room.

Operationally, Point is user-friendly, featuring a smart display that informs users of the air quality and allows for easy adjustments with a simple turn of a button. Its height can be tailored to personal preference, further enhancing its adaptability. The design team, including Fangui Zeng and Xingye Wang, has ensured that Point is not just a functional appliance but also an interactive experience.

Developed at the School of Design and Art of Hunan Institute of Engineering in January 2024, Point is the result of extensive research into integrated and intelligent lifestyle products. The challenge faced by the designers was to balance functionality with aesthetics, ensuring that each aspect of the product was harmoniously arranged.

Point's excellence in design has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Home Appliances Design category for 2024. This accolade is a testament to the design's ingenuity and its potential to enhance the quality of life by combining art, science, design, and technology. As a product of the Hunan Institute of Engineering, Point is not only a triumph of design but also a symbol of the institution's commitment to fostering innovation.
