EMOK MAMOKI is not your average soft toy. Its unique design allows for a reversible feature, presenting two distinct characters in one toy. Each toy is one-of-a-kind, with varying colors and finishes. The toy can also be personalized with an embroidered name on a lavender heart, making it an ideal gift for children. Each EMOK MAMOKI comes with a special passport, detailing its limited edition number, design details, and care instructions.
The production process of EMOK MAMOKI is meticulous and complex, requiring more fabric and effort than a standard toy. The process includes preparing and cutting forms in fabrics, embroidery, sewing on front main shapes, stuffing parts of the toy, sewing it all together, and hand finishing. The materials used are certified organic cotton interlock/bamboo fleece, hypoallergenic stuffing made from natural fibers, woolen felt for details, and a lavender heart. All toys are made in Ireland in a smoke-free and pet-free environment.
The toy is designed for interaction and play. It can be turned inside out through its mouth, revealing a different design on each side. One side presents a childlike character dressed in overalls with little pockets, while the other side reveals a friendly monster. The lavender-filled heart at the end of its tail provides a soothing scent, adding another dimension to the play experience.
Renata Calka's journey to create EMOK MAMOKI began in November 2009. Since then, the toy has gained popularity and has been sold in various markets, galleries, and craft shops in Ireland, as well as online. The design has been well-received, particularly by those seeking high-quality, unique, and eco-friendly toys.
Despite the challenges faced in trying to mass-produce the toy while maintaining its quality and uniqueness, Calka remains committed to her design. The success of EMOK MAMOKI is a testament to her dedication and creativity, proving that innovative design can indeed revolutionize traditional playtime.
