The Principal: A Briefcase Made from Upcycled Conveyor Belt

Uniquely Crafted and Durable

The Principal, designed by Dinand Stufkens, is a remarkable briefcase that showcases the innovative use of upcycled materials. Made from used conveyor belt, this design combines durability, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

KAZMOK, the brand behind The Principal, specializes in creating products from industrial waste materials. The use of conveyor belts as the main material for their designs sets them apart from traditional briefcase manufacturers. The material is not only strong and durable but also unique in terms of its color and pattern.

The Principal is just one of the many products offered by KAZMOK. Their range includes trolleys, shopping bags, laptop bags, and accessories such as iPad sleeves and belts. Each item is carefully crafted to ensure long-lasting quality and style.

Creating products from used conveyor belts presented several challenges for the design team. They had to start from scratch, as no previous experience existed in cutting and stitching this unconventional material. However, their dedication and creativity paid off, resulting in a collection of stunning and functional designs.

In addition to the technical challenges, KAZMOK also had to build a network of companies operating in the conveyor industry to source the used belts. These belts are then cleaned and prepared for production, which takes place in the Czech Republic. The decision to produce in the Czech Republic was driven by the country's renowned craftsmanship.

The Principal measures 420 x 280 x 130 mm, providing ample space for all your essentials. Its sleek design and attention to detail make it a stylish accessory for any professional. The unique character of each bag, with its pattern of scars and smudges acquired from its previous life on the conveyor belt, adds a touch of individuality to each piece.

Recognized for its exceptional design, The Principal was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Fashion and Travel Accessories category in 2014. This prestigious award celebrates designs that exhibit outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill. The Principal's combination of functionality, durability, and sustainability truly sets it apart.

The Principal by KAZMOK is a testament to the possibilities of upcycling and the beauty of repurposing industrial waste. By giving used conveyor belts a new life as stylish and functional accessories, KAZMOK is making a positive impact on the environment and redefining the concept of luxury.
