Designed by Viktor Kovtun, the Seating for Station 1 offers a unique and innovative solution for public seating. Inspired by the need for comfortable seating at stations, this design combines simplicity, comfort, and eco-friendly elements.

The Seating for Station 1 stands out with its unique properties. The comfortability of the seating comes from two symmetrical parts connected by a basement. The back of the seat has an oval form, providing ergonomic support. The back connects with the seating part using bolts, ensuring stability and ease of assembly. This design also prioritizes eco-friendliness, with its efficient use of materials and eco-design components.

One of the key strengths of this design is its ease of assembly and cheapness of transportation. With only two identical parts, the Seating for Station 1 can be quickly and easily assembled. This makes it an ideal choice not only for stations but also for parks and township environments.

The Seating for Station 1 is made using traditional materials such as wood, plywood, metal, MDF, and plastic. Its technical specifications include a length of 810mm (1365mm when extended), a width of 600mm, and a height of 810mm.

Designed by Viktor Kovtun and his son Yuriy, this project started in Autumn 2013 in Kyiv and was completed in February 2014 in Odessa. Despite its simplicity, the design required careful research and creative problem-solving. The main challenge was to find the best variant of design and functionality for manufacturing and installation.

The Seating for Station 1 received recognition for its excellence in design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2014. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Seating for Station 1 stood out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and contribution to a better world.
