Yongzone: A Digital Virtual Image Teaching Machine

Revolutionizing Education for Preschool Children

The Yongzone design by Rumi Li combines augmented reality technology with education to create a unique and innovative teaching tool for preschool children.

The Yongzone design takes inspiration from existing imaging software technologies and aims to meet the demands of preschool children and their parents. By exploring the target consumer needs and identifying innovation opportunities, Rumi Li has created a product that combines the physical and virtual worlds to enhance the learning experience.

What sets Yongzone apart is its ability to engage preschool children on multiple levels, including physiological, cognitive, and emotional. Through extensive usability research, Rumi Li has found a balance between high-tech features and a simple physical form. The design resembles a magnifying glass, symbolizing the exploration of the world and the value of the product.

The interaction experience with Yongzone is influenced by nature and emotions, creating a rich and human-like connection for children. The design incorporates touch and numerical coding to provide a truly immersive learning experience. Additionally, Rumi Li has developed a business model and strategy to ensure the future growth and development of the product.

The Yongzone design was realized through desktop research, trend analysis, consumer insights, and user testing. The team conducted quantitative surveys, in-depth interviews, and environmental research to gather data and refine the design. The final product specifications include dimensions of 210 * 110 * 21mm and a weight of 589g.

Throughout the design process, Rumi Li collaborated with the Shanghai LKK Innovation Design Group and the manufacturer Youngzone Culture Co Ltd. The combined efforts of these entities have resulted in a groundbreaking educational tool for preschool children.

The Yongzone design project started in January 2014 and was completed in June 2014 in China. The research conducted during this time focused on defining the target audience, understanding their needs, and positioning the product in the market. The design team also explored extreme use cases and environments to ensure the product's adaptability and effectiveness.

The Yongzone design has received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Education, Teaching Aid, and Training Content Design category in 2015. This award is given to designs that demonstrate practicality, innovation, and adherence to industry standards.

With its unique combination of augmented reality and education, the Yongzone design is revolutionizing the way preschool children learn. By bridging the gap between the physical and virtual worlds, Yongzone provides an immersive and engaging educational experience for young learners.
