Mila's Daphne Peninsula: A Weightless Mass Ready to Fly

Uniquely Designed Mixed Use Development in Milas, Turkey

Mila's Daphne Peninsula is a groundbreaking mixed-use development project located on a lush peninsula in Milas, Turkey. Designed by Piril Kugu Iscan Gurcaglar, this project aims to create a harmonious relationship between the buildings and the surrounding topography, giving them the appearance of a weightless mass ready to take flight.

All of the buildings in Mila's Daphne Peninsula have been meticulously designed to seamlessly blend with the natural landscape. The topographic properties of the land were carefully considered, resulting in buildings placed on different levels to avoid interception and provide exclusive sea views for all residents.

The residence blocks, consisting of four apartments each, offer a unique living experience with secluded outdoor spaces that mimic the privacy of detached houses. The hotel, the largest and tallest building in the area, embodies the concept of weightlessness with a transparent storey in the middle, reducing its mass and offering a breathtaking view of the sea from the lobby and bar.

The private house, situated on a remote and rocky part of the peninsula, showcases the same design language as the other buildings. It appears to be ready to fly away, with parts of the rocky topography integrated into the living room and some of the rooms, creating a natural decor element.

One of the key features of Mila's Daphne Peninsula is the use of local and sustainable materials, ensuring compatibility with the surrounding nature. The exterior of the buildings will be coated with rocks excavated from the construction site, further enhancing the integration of the structures with the land.

This living area offers a wide range of amenities, including a 60-room hotel, 18 residence blocks, a private villa, open sports areas, a beach club, restaurants, and a small yacht marina. The functions provided in this multi-purpose development are designed to support each other and provide the utmost comfort for the residents.

Mila's Daphne Peninsula is a testament to the meticulous research and planning that went into its creation. The topographical engineers involved in the project ensured that the buildings were in perfect harmony with the land, preserving the existing flora and rocks as integral elements of the design.

With its unique design, Mila's Daphne Peninsula has received recognition in the form of the prestigious A' Design Award. This project was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2015, highlighting its outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill.

Construction of Mila's Daphne Peninsula is expected to be completed in May 2017, offering residents a one-of-a-kind living experience where architecture and nature coexist in perfect harmony.
