Pelcraft: A New Dimension in Wall Art

Unlike conventional wall features, Pelcraft is a platform that enables everyone to design and install their exclusive feature wall or artwork. This design objective aims to bring a relaxing and joyful attitude to the process, encouraging participation from family and friends.

Pelcraft's products are made from reclaimed paper, chosen for its lightweight and handy characteristics. This choice of material makes installation and removal simple and flexible, with only a 3M sticker needed for fixing. This design allows users to enjoy the process from design to puzzle installation, transforming their creation into a wall feature or artwork for appreciation.

The design offers eight types of modules in a wide range of colors and two sizes, 50mm x 50mm and 100mm x 100mm. The designers are also planning to explore different lightweight materials for future designs. The Pelcraft platform also allows users to share their creations with friends and family through a web or app interface, saving their works as they create them.

Pelcraft, which started in June 2016 in Hong Kong, was inspired by the complexities of designing wall features within the interior design industry. The designers sought to simplify the process, making it accessible to ordinary people. The challenge was to find materials that were lightweight, eco-friendly, and safe, as the design was intended to be an interactive activity for families and friends.

The design was awarded the Silver A' Building Materials and Construction Components Design Award in 2017, recognized for its outstanding expertise and innovation. The copyrights for Pelcraft belong to CTRC Design Consultant Ltd., 2016. The design is a testament to the creativity and technical skill of designers Christine Tsui and Ryan Cheung, who have created a platform that transforms and fits into different styles of space.
