The ANKER flooro stands out due to its unique properties. Unlike conventional carpeting, it resembles a flooring material and weighs significantly less, resulting in a weight reduction of 30-70%. Despite its lightweight nature, it is extremely hard-wearing. The carpet's lower weight and optimized product functionality lead to economic benefits, including lower logistics costs. Moreover, 50% of this new generation of textile flooring is made using recycled Econyl yarns, making it an environmentally friendly choice.
The creation of ANKER flooro involved a newly developed special high-tech woven system. The surface is entirely made with recycled content PET and PA6 ECONYL material. The carpet comes in a width of 140cm and is available in customized endless rolls. It is easy to work with, making it a practical choice for the aviation industry.
The development of ANKER flooro was a result of extensive research and collaboration. In 2013, ANKER assembled a team of experts, including weaving specialists, weaving machine specialists, designers, and sales and marketing professionals. After several development trials and prototypes, the carpet was finally finished in 2017.
The main challenge faced during the development of ANKER flooro was the transition from traditional to a very dense weaving technology. The carpet is woven using only half as much material, thanks to a new high-tech woven system that weaves the carpet's individual threads extremely densely. While a conventional carpet is woven using around 15 threads per centimetre, more than 34 threads per centimetre are used for ANKER flooro. The density of the material produces a flat and extremely compact textile structure.
The innovative carpet design has been recognized and awarded Silver in A' Textile, Fabric, Textures, Patterns and Cloth Design Award in 2017. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The design is also protected under German Trade Mark Registration No. 30 2016 036 631.8/27 "flooro".
